As teachers, we hone our ability to be present to our students. We observe how they move; we sense how their emotions and thoughts affect their vocal activity. Our care for them – from developing their vocal skills to supporting their unique self-expression – starts with the act of deep witnessing.
But let’s be honest: this kind of caring presence can become draining, unsatisfying, and even lead to burn-out . . . unless we are actively practicing a similar caring presence with ourselves.
Come learn the ABC’s of self-presence (awareness, befriending, and curiosity) in an engaging, eye-opening workshop.
**Workshop participants should dress in clothing they can move well in. Please have on hand art supplies (paper and crayons and/or colored pencils, etc).
